Project Shandon
Property: New build detached home, East Belfast
Service: Master bedroom and living room redesign
The owners of this large new build property had been moved in for a couple of years, but with a growing young family, they were keen to employ our help in carving out some restful spaces within the home to escape to after a busy day. We started on the front living room, where we advised on tongue and groove panelling behind the large TV to soften it and create a focal point in the room, which like many new build properties, lacked a fireplace. We then furnished the room in a transitional design style, which, with its nod to both old and new, added some character to the new build, whilst retaining a clean and modern feel. We centred a comfortable corner sofa around the main seating zone for sports and movie watching in the evening, then added a pair of easy chairs and privacy window dressings within the front bay to create a quiet spot for enjoying a morning cup of coffee away from the busy hub of the home. In the master bedroom, we were tasked with transforming it into a restful retreat, with a ‘hotel’ vibe. We added new window dressings, wall moulding, kept to a restrained colour palette and refreshed smaller furnishings to give the room a timeless and elegant feel, including a little seating area overlooking the neighbouring golf course and a dressing table.
